Foreman of the waste crushing section of the production department of ME "MCWM" KCC Oleksii Ponomarenko participated in a two-week training that took place in Japan and was organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA in cooperation with Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. and other related organizations.

The training covered key aspects of safe handling of asbestos in construction and demolition waste, modern methods of detection, containment, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials.

The acquired knowledge is especially relevant for the work of ME "MCWM" KCC given the large volumes of demolition waste generated in Kharkiv as a result of the armed aggression.

Implementing Japanese practices of safe asbestos management will help protect the health of workers and the population, and improve the quality of demolition waste processing.
